Welcome our new Coalition Coordinator – Walter Robinson II!
We are excited to welcome our new coalition coordinator, Walter Robinson II! Walter has already hit the ground running in the beginning to expand the coalition, and preparing for strategic and intentional advocacy for communities currently least served by our transportation system. You will be hearing much more from them soon!
Walter comes to this work through years of experience building partnerships in the public, private and non-profit sectors. At the Joint Office of Homeless Services, he worked to engage culturally specific partners, interfaith leaders, and non-profit partners to develop solutions to combat homelessness in Multnomah County. Before that, Walter served as a Constituent Relations Liaison and Policy Advisor for Multnomah County Commissioner Jules Bailey, where he worked with the Commissioner on building the Sauvie Island Strategic Plan, Schools United Neighborhood Initiatives, LGBTQ relations, Restorative Justice Programming, and small business and economic development initiatives. During his time in Commissioner Bailey’s office he built the Black Male Achievement Summer Youth Experience Program; a culturally specific program professional development program that teaches young Black Men how to navigate the professional world while exposing them to careers in tech, construction and design.
Walter also serves as the Vice-Chair of Portland African American Leadership Forum C4 Board, Basic Rights of Oregon Board member, Chair of Black Male Achievement Workforce and Employment Subcommittee, and was previously the Chair of the City Club of Portland Friday Forum Committee.
Please join us in welcoming Walter!
